Coyle has been blowing glass since 2003.  He recieved his degree in scientific glassblowing in 2006.

"My work is an extention of my subcontious and I try to let each piece make itself so I can loose myself in the flow. Some pieces are planned and some are freestyled, but anything can change during the fabrication of a piece so I must listen to the glass and make it how it wants to be made.....Like a growing plant- leaves can be trimmed to coax the plant to grow this way or that, but in the end every new sprout will grow twords the sun." - Coyle

Elbo discovered furnace glass in 2005 at the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Tyler in 2009 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Glass and a minor in Art History. In 2012, Elbo left Philadelphia and moved up to Western Massachusetts to continue producing his artistic visions in pipe making.

Creating these outrageous creatures is, for Salt a cathartic experience.  As an artist Salt infuses the thoughts, emotions and ideas that are relevant to him into his creations, thus exercising his stresses and concerns.  At a glance they may seem intimidating or even sinister.  However, they are actually meant to be companions to the end user and to help those who come in contact with them to relax, gain perspective, and realign their thoughts.  The outward appearance that involves teeth and claws sends a message that this creature can and will defend itself and its allies, thus a Salt pipe acts as both gargoyle and meditative tool for the user.
